Mrs. Amoss' Educational Philosophy
|
I believe that all children can learn. My goal as a teacher is to provide a supportive,
nurturing classroom that develops the confidence my students need to become
successful individuals. I believe that
independence, motivation, organization, and cooperation are the key
ingredients to a student’s success. I actively promote high goals and standards of excellence
to stretch each student to his or her full potential. I treat my students with the respect they
deserve and require them to respect others.
My students are responsible for both their actions and their
words. I always encourage my students
to complete classroom and homework tasks with their best efforts. I believe that a central part of teaching second grade is
to help each child become an independent thinker and worker. My main goal is to raise my students’
self-esteem by encouraging them to dream and not be afraid to work hard to
achieve those dreams. |

Every child must feel
successful. I cannot do this by myself. Cooperation between parents,
students, and teachers is essential for success! Students need to work
together and support each other. I also need for parents to do their
part by helping their children with their homework, organizing a system to
make sure all notes, books, and papers are returned on time, and setting up a
good routine (like bedtimes and study times). Together, our
accomplishments can be great! |
