Buildings and Grounds
The School Board voted to contract with New Century Solutions to conduct security audits at the five school sites. Dr. Gring indicated that the audits would cover ten security areas in the school environment.

It was announced that the use of district athletic fields is restricted and that no outside teams are allowed to use the field because of the current drought. Signs will be posted to indicate this action.

Drawings were placed on display in the LGI during the evening which show the planned renovations to Unionville Elementary School. Design for the new school is complete and the UES plans are ninety percent complete. The projects are on schedule and an Act 34 Hearing is scheduled for December 16, 1999.

Curriculum
Dr. Brenda O'Hern was welcomed as the new Assistant Superintendent. She will be working in the curriculum area and plans the following initiatives&emdash;moving the district to standards based education, looking at the student achievement scores, a six year assessment plan, a study of Special Education, curriculum management software package, meeting with every teacher and visiting every classroom.

Next Curriculum Council meeting is October 27, 1999.

Transportation
The School Baord voted to approve the bus stops for the 1999-2000 school year.

The old and new transportation facitities will be toured before the September 1999 school baord meeting.

District Representatives met with PENNDOT, our state representatives, senators and township officials in June, 1999. Summary notes of the meeting were distributed to the school baord members. The impact of the new elemementary school on Pocopson Road as well as safety concerns on various roads were discussed. It was stated that the meeting was productive for all parties and there was interest in holding one annually.

Superintendent's Report
Dr. Gring welcomed Dr. O'Hern as the new Assistant Superintendent and welcomed Tom Marinelli back to the district office. The leadership platform of Stephen Covey was the topic for the Administrative Retreat held this summer-a follow-up session is planned for February.
