First Grade Size

For the 2007-2008 school year, first grade class sizes in the Unionville-Chadds Ford School District will be capped at twenty-two per class. If one of our elementary school's first grade enrollments reaches this cap, the next student(s) to register will be assigned to Hillendale Elementary School. Of the four elementary schools, Hillendale's enrollment can best accommodate an increased population in the first grade.

This plan will ensure that all of our first graders experience comparable class sizes throughout the year. In addition, first grade students will not have to be reassigned to a new teacher within their school once the year has begun.

We are confident in Hillendale Elementary's ability to welcome all new first graders into its fine program.
