UHS Students Qualify for the Chester County Semi-Final Academic Competition
Nine teams will compete in the Semi-Final matches for the Chester County Academic Competition. The teams are Unionville, West Chester Rustin, Devon Prep, Downingtown West, West Chester East, West Chester Henderson, Downingtown East, Great Valley and Conestoga. The teams will compete at the Chester County Intermediate Unit in Downingtown.
The Teams will be divided up into three matches. Unionville, West Chester Henderson and Conestoga will compete against each other in this first event match. West Chester Rustin, West Chester East and Great Valley will compete in the second event match followed by Devon Prep, Downingtown West and Downingtown East for the final event match. The winners of each match will compete in the Championship Match on March 18, 2009 for the varsity Championship.
The three top teams in the Junior Varsity will compete in the Championship match on March 18, 2009. They are Devon Prep, Unionville and Downingtown East. Admission to the Championship matches is open to anyone wishing to attend. There will not be a fee to attend this event.
The Franklin Mint Federal Credit Union donated the funds to the Chester County Academic Competition to provide the Scholarships awarded to the first, second and third place winners.
