Heart & Sole/Girls on the Run is back at Patton this spring! This after school running program for girls is held twice a week starting March 10 and leads up to the STRIDE 5K on May 30. Visit the YMCA website for more information and to register.
Are you interested in STEM? On February 22nd from 9:00 am to 4:30 pm, Patton will be hosting the Pioneers of Progress STEM Event. In this event, students will participate in various STEM activities. The winners of these activities will be awarded a Kindle Fire. Other prizes will also be given to the runner-ups. There is no fee to participate in this event and a free pizza lunch will be provided. Twenty Patton 6th graders have their Self Portrait Illuminated Letter artwork displayed at the Chester County Library in Exton. The show will hang for all of February if you would like to stop by and check it out! Students used their initial and incorporated at least 3 “things” about themselves. Read more.

On February 1st, Patton students Chi Xu, Arjun Suryawanshi, Andy Ye, Shivam Maheshwari, Emily Ran, Will Neuberger, Kushal Garg, Derrick Han, Rohan Gandhi, Sree Yedida participated in the Chester County Chapter MathCounts Competition. Congratulations to 8th graders Chi Xu for winning 1st place, Arjun Suryawanshi for winning 4th place, and 7th grader Andy Ye for winning 8th place. And a great congratulations on the Patton MathCounts team for winning the 2nd place!
Patton was well-represented at the FIRST-Mid Atlantic Pennsylvania-Southeast Region Championship Three out of the 48 teams were comprised partly or entirely of Patton students. The Silver Wolves, won the First Place Champions Award and Third place Robot Performance Award, and will be competing at the World Festival in Detroit later this year. Team members are Alexandra Snyder, Brendan Connolly, Katie Connolly, Madelynn van Aken, Rebecca Connolly, Sophie Li, and William Du.
On Wednesday, 29 students from Patton participated in the school competition of the National Geographic Society GeoBee. First place was awarded to Collin Hu - 6th grade, 2nd place was awarded to Ismaeel Qureshi - 7th grade, 3rd place to Thomas Gibson - 7th grade, and 4th place to Katie Connelly - 6th grade. Read more.
The YMCA of Greater Brandywine is sponsoring a running program for boys in grades 3 through 8 at Unionville Elementary School. This program is called STRIDE and runs from February 10 through March 9 from 3:45 - 5:00. Register here or flyers are available in the main office if interested.
The PAIU is sponsoring the Message of Kindness Student Poster Contest! Students in grades K-12 can submit entries to their IU for local judging. Winning entries will be shared statewide as a way to continue our "Message of Kindness" throughout the year. Click here for more information.
