Required Employee Clearance Information

All applicants must possess the following clearances dated within one year of employment.

  • Federal Bureau of Investigations (FBI) Criminal Background Checks (Act 114)
  • Pennsylvania Criminal Record Checks (Act 34)
  • Pennsylvania Child Abuse History Clearances (Act 151)
  • Sexual Misconduct/Abuse Disclosure Release (Act 168)


Federal Criminal History Record Check (Act 114) 

The Chester County Intermediate Unit (CCIU) is not a public fingerprint site. However, UCF Human Resources staff can schedule appointments at CCIU for UCF employees and external candidates being offered a position.

All other applicants and volunteers can be fingerprinted at any public IdentoGO fingerprint location. See below. 

PLEASE CHOOSE DEPARTMENT OF EDUCATION OPTION NOT Department of Human Services when securing this clearance.

Be sure to click on “print certificate” to print actual clearance prior to exiting the system. If you have a problem and you do not get your report or control number, call 888-783-7972 for assistance.

Employment should be selected as “Purpose of Clearance” for UCFSD paid coaches and SAGE participants.


Pennsylvania Child Abuse History Clearance (Act 151

Apply online at

For the "Application Purpose," please choose School Employee Governed by Public School Code: Applying as a school employee who is required to obtain background checks pursuant to Section 111 of the Public School Code.

Clearance reports may take 10 days or more to be received, so please plan accordingly.

Once the application is received in the ChildLine and Abuse Registry’s Verification Unit, the applicant will be emailed to print their clearance.

Act 168 Sexual Misconduct/Abuse Disclosure Release
This clearance only applies to new hires.

Unionville-Chadds Ford School District uses an online process for submission and processing of required Act 168 forms.  Candidates will receive an email notification as necessary during the selection process.
