In order to prevent violence, self protection education needs to begin with situational awareness training, intuitive thinking conversations and identification of healthy boundaries. With skills of avoidance as a foundation, skills of action can be learned. For this we use Krav Maga. Krav Maga is a system developed for the Israeli Special Forces that lends itself extremely well to self defense training because of its simplicity and quick, aggressive techniques. Once these skills are developed, the chances of avoiding a threat are increased, as well as the chances of stronger, happier and more confident individuals. Self Protection training creates individuals that feel validated, safe and in control of their circumstances. Healthy boundaries, identifying inappropriate behavior and increased awareness creates a productive work and life environment.

Board a bus and head to Baldwin’s Book Barn, an inveterate and unique institution of Chester County. Baldwin's Book Barn Used Book Store is inside a 200-yr-old dairy barn originally built by Brinton Stroud Darlington. The yard and much of the land surrounding was the Darlington homestead for many years. The earlier Mr. & Mrs. Baldwin purchased the old barn in 1948 and converted it into the book store, with a house on one side where they raised their children. Many of the book shelves upstairs were constructed from fruit crates the Baldwin's obtained from their local grocer. Today there are over 200,000 used and antique books on 4 floors, with more being donated each day. *Please note there are no elevators or ramps, and some steep stairs.
