Special Education
Special Education Services are provided by the district and through consortiums with other education agencies, including the Chester County Intermediate Unit (CCIU). Unionville-Chadds Ford School District works cooperatively with many social agencies that support and augment our educational efforts. Eligible students may access a wide range of services.
The District endeavors to provide appropriate special education services to all students who qualify for and are in need of such services. The District is able to provide a full spectrum of services, tailoring the program and placement, to meet the specifications detailed in the student’s Individualized Education Plan (IEP).
The District’s ultimate goal for each student enrolled in any special educational program is to provide an appropriate education experience in the least restrictive environment with all the services and supports necessary to ensure the success of the student. Ancillary services such as transportation, physical and occupational therapy, psychological and social services, etc., will be instituted when needed to assist the student to accomplish his/her IEP goals.
