Bus Driver Shortage - A National Crisis
A recent national survey revealed that the majority of school organizations or school bus service contractors in the United States are facing a school bus driver shortage that would be characterized as moderate to severe.
Our mission is to find and retain qualified individuals to transport our most precious cargo. Staffing remains a challenge in transportation for a number of reasons; namely due to the daily split schedule, the odd hours of work, and the rigorous licensing and credentialing requirements. As we all work together to overcome this challenge, we appreciate the patience of our loyal and dedicated school bus drivers who pitch in to help out when we are short staffed. In times of driver shortage, we spend a great deal of time splitting and combining bus routes to provide full coverage and deliver our students as quickly and safely as possible. On most days, office staff and mechanics are out covering bus routes too.
