Hillendale families and staff were invited to attend an end-of-summer celebration in honor of Hillendale’s recent recognition as a U.S. Department of Education Green Ribbon School! Hillendale officially received the award in Washington, D.C. on August 8th and this event was an opportunity to bring the community together to celebrate this outstanding achievement. Community partners Longwood Gardens, Stroud Water Research, and Mt. Cuba Center offered sustainability and environmentalism-themed activities for students to enjoy.  The event concluded with a ceremonious raising of a new Green Ribbon flag and the unveiling of the new “Forest Path” trail and hike led by retired Hillendale Health & PE Teacher, Mr. Claypoole.
