COME TO THE UCF ROBOTICS ORIENTATION (JUNE 4 @ 6:30PM)
See some robot action on June 4 from 6:30 to 7:30 PM in the UHS Front Parking Lot. Both adults and students interested in joining a team are invited. If you can't make the in-person orientation, there will be a Zoom meeting on June 12th.
JOIN OUR INFORMATIONAL ZOOM MEETING ON JUNE 12 @ 7:00 PM
FIRST Tech Challenge (FTC) is a program where middle and high schoolers create robots to compete against other schools (even teams around the world). This is a fun and enjoyable challenge that will broaden your knowledge of STEM and teamwork. No experience is necessary. At the Informational meeting, we plan to discuss more about the FIRST program and the teams in the district and answer any questions! Both adults and students interested in joining a team are invited.
WHAT THE UCF ROBOTICS TEAM HAS ACCOMPLISHED THIS YEAR:
The FIVE FTC teams that we have in the school district participated in the 2020-2021 season. One of them, the Green Lemons made it to the State Championship ending in 5th place in the robot ranking scores. They are a team that started just a couple of years ago and already made it to States, which is an impressive accomplishment. The Two-Eyed Illuminati also made it to States and finished 1st place in Connect award and 3rd place in Inspire award, which is the most prestigious award in the program. Both awards would have allowed the team to go to the World Championship in Detroit. Unfortunately due to COVID, the world championship had to be canceled this year. It is amazing what the teams were able to accomplish in such a challenging year.
