New Pupil Services Leadership Named

Rachel Lomas to serve as Interim Director of Pupil Services

The Unionville-Chadds Ford School District (UCFSD) has named Mrs. Rachel Lomas as the Interim Director of Pupil Services. Her first day is Wednesday, October 15.

Current UCFSD Director of Pupil Services Dr. Leah Reider was recently selected as the next Assistant Superintendent at the Coatesville Area School District (CASD). “We couldn’t be prouder of Dr. Reider as she takes this exciting next step in her career at CASD,” said UCFSD Assistant Superintendent and Director of Human Resources Mr. Michael Audevard. Her last day with the District will be on Friday, October 24.

Mrs. Lomas currently serves as the CCIU’s Preschool Special Education Supervisor. She is no stranger to UCFSD, having been an Interim Special Education Supervisor for the district in 2022-23. She earned her undergraduate degree in Business Administration, her masters degree in Elementary and Special Education, along with a certification in Special Education Supervision and her Superintendent’s Letter of Eligibility.

“I’m thrilled to be joining the UCFSD community as the Interim Director of Pupil Services,” said Mrs. Lomas, adding “It is an honor to support our students, families and staff in a district so deeply committed to educational excellence and the social development of all learners.”

Along with the talented Pupil Services team, she will provide consistent leadership in the areas of special education, gifted education and health services. “We’re committed to hiring the right long-term leader for this important role and will reopen the search in the spring when we’ll have access to the strongest candidate pool,” added Mr. Audevard.
