Dear UCFSD Community,
The Chester County Health Department, in conjunction with Chester County superintendents, is working on a vaccination plan for educators and education staff throughout the County. Right now, the plan calls for four school-based vaccination sites in the County. These sites have yet to be determined - we are hopeful that UCFSD will be one of these sites.
We are waiting for the Chester County Health Department to finalize the details of this plan which includes securing the necessary doses. While there is talk of limited access to the vaccine, we are hopeful that the County is provided enough vaccines for not only our staff but for all Chester County educators and education staff.
We are actively engaged in lobbying for the vaccine to be made available to UCFSD staff and all education staff. As essential workers, it is critical that our staff on the frontlines are able to receive the vaccine and receive it now. Access to the vaccine is vital to keeping our students and staff safe.
We need your help! I urge you to reach out to your local legislators and state officials to help in our effort in making education and educators a priority. Join us in advocating for the proper amount of vaccines to be made available so that the County can implement their plan. We know that this mitigation effort is what is needed as a step toward a return to normalcy.
Below are some resources developed in partnership with other Chester County school districts to assist you in this important effort. Thank you for your support.
