Unionville High School Named the Number Five High School in Pennsylvania by U.S. News & World Report
Unionville High School (UHS) has reached its highest rank in school history, climbing to 5th place in U.S. News & World Report’s 2025-26 rankings of Pennsylvania High Schools.
“I am so proud of our exceptional UHS students and staff for having earned this record-breaking recognition,” said Unionville-Chadds Ford School District (UCFSD) Superintendent Tim Hoffman. “I’m equally grateful for the support of our entire community and for our collective belief in the value of education.”
UHS also ranked 320th among more than 24,000 high schools nationwide– approaching the school's best-ever national ranking of 309th, achieved in 2023.
U.S. News & World Report’s methodology focuses on six factors: college readiness; reading, math and science proficiency; reading, math and science performance; underserved student performance; college curriculum breadth; and graduation rates.
“While these rankings focus on data-driven outcomes, academics are truly just one measure of success in our school,” reflected UHS Principal Patrick Crater. He added, “Above all else, our students are problem-solvers who are kind, compassionate and ready to contribute meaningfully in the world.”
UHS student Claire Kabala shared that she believes the quality of relationships between students and teachers have led to the school’s success. “There’s a balance of friendliness and comfort along with mutual respect,” she said.
UHS Social Studies Teacher and UCFSD parent Mike Mangan also thanked the school’s community for helping students to thrive both academically and personally. “Strong support from parents and community members is evident in so many meaningful ways—through active involvement in extracurricular activities, volunteerism and ongoing encouragement at home,” he added.
In September, Niche also released their 2025-26 rankings, with UCFSD coming in at number two among school districts in Chester County, number 14 among school districts in Pennsylvania and number 217 among school districts in the United States.
