Dear UCF Community,
This week I’ll be sharing the latest metrics released by Chester County. We continue to be in touch with Dr. Sulieman as we monitor transmission rates in Chester County and our community daily - key takeaways from this week’s metrics include:
- Chester County positivity rates decreased from 2.1% to 1.8%;
- Chester County has seen a decrease in incidence rate per 100,000 from 21.9 to13.5;
- The number of UCF community cases has decreased from 5 to 3;
- UCF has seen 148 cases (students and staff) this year with two over the past four weeks.
Next Monday night the School Board will vote to sunset our current health and safety plan at the end of this school year. They will also vote on a new abbreviated health and safety plan that will guide us through the summer with our summer academies, ESY, and athletic practices on campus. We will continue to monitor COVID-19 metrics as we plan for next school year. Of course, we will communicate important information with staff and families over the summer as needed.
Since this is the last full week of school - this will be my last COVID-19 metrics update. We tried to communicate it all - from Dr. Sulieman’s weekly analysis, to rapidly and ever-changing health department guidance, to shifts in our schedule and instructional model and most recently vaccine information. Hopefully, you have found these 40 updates helpful during the pandemic - moving forward I look forward to a more normal communication cycle!
