UCFSD Hires New Supervisor of Food Service

On April 12, 2021 the Unionville Chadds Ford School Board approved the appointment of Ms. Devon Sundberg as the District’s new Supervisor of Food Service.

Ms. Sundberg is currently the Coordinator of Dietetic Services for the School District of Philadelphia where she manages the district’s $6 million USDA foods entitlement program.  She brings a strong background in school food service administration, nutrition, state and federal compliance, Farm to School programs, sustainability, and contract management. Additionally, she holds a Masters of Dietetic Administration and serves as a Mayoral Appointee of the Philadelphia Food Policy Advisory Council.

The search for the Supervisor of Food Service began with a pool of 15 applicants.  The interview committee then narrowed the field through an intensive and thorough interview process.  Each candidate met with faculty, staff, parents, administrators, and Board members in a series of four interviews. In the end, Ms. Sundberg was the clear candidate.

During Ms. Sunberg’s appointment, Dr. Sanville shared, “Ms. Sundberg rose to the top of a very talented candidate pool. Her food service background coupled with her background in nutrition and dietetics makes her the clear choice. Ms. Sundberg has initiated several exciting and innovative programs in her role as Coordinator of Dietetic Services for the School District of Philadelphia and I can’t wait for her to bring that creative spirit to Unionville-Chadds Ford.”

Ms. Sundberg’s official start date will be on May 3, 2021. She currently lives in Philadelphia with her husband and two children.  They will be moving to the Chadds Ford community later this summer.

Ms. Sundberg shared, “Having grown up in Southern Chester County, I am well aware of UCFSD’s reputation as a top tier school district. It is now my distinct honor to be a part of the high quality and innovation for which the district is known. I am honored to be entrusted with this role and I look forward to becoming a part of this amazing community.”
