UCFSD Names New Director of Communications and Community Relations

Kennett Square, PA - The Unionville-Chadds Ford School District School Board has welcomed Mrs. Nikki Laroya as the Director of Communications and Community Relations.

“We are thrilled that Mrs. Laroya has joined the UCFSD community and will continue sharing our story,” stated Dr. John Sanville, Superintendent. "She brings to UCF talent, enthusiasm and fresh ideas that will build on our tradition of strong communication and comprehensive community outreach!”

Laroya brings ten years of experience in K-12 and higher education communications. She joins us most recently from the Kennett Consolidated School District and, before that, the University of Delaware’s Division of Academic Affairs, where she served as a Communications Specialist.

A University of Delaware graduate, Laroya earned her honors undergraduate degree in Anthropology. She is pursuing a Master’s in the Joseph R. Biden, Jr. School of Public Policy & Administration.

During a month-long interview process, an interview committee comprised of board members, administrators, staff and families met with Laroya and other talented candidates. Laroya successfully demonstrated her skills during the interview process and, in the end, was selected as the District’s next Director of Communications and Community Relations.

Her first day in the District was Monday, January 22. She has already hit the ground running, meeting with stakeholders across the UCFSD community.

“It is a privilege to serve the Unionville-Chadds Ford School District as the Director of Communications and Community Relations. I look forward to keeping all members of the UCFSD community informed and inspired to engage in the success of our students,” shared Laroya. She added “I am honored that the Board and Dr. Sanville have trusted me with this important work. I’d like to thank my predecessor, Mrs. Fazio, for laying a strong foundation and our Communications Specialist, Ms. Bellew, for her support. ”

At Unionville, Nikki will lead the District’s Communications and Community Relations strategy, working with her team to manage everything from our brand to website, social media, email, text, phone, print, media relations and other outreach opportunities.

Mrs. Laroya and her husband, Emir, share a seven-month-old daughter named Audrey and a dog named Beau.
