The Unionville-Chadds Ford School District unveiled the new Varsity Softball Field with a ribbon-cutting ceremony on Friday, March 25, 2022, before the start of the season’s home opener.
The community was invited to the ceremony which included remarks from Director of Student Activities, Pat Crater, Director of Facilities, James Whitesel, and team captain, Lucy Bruker. Key players involved in making this project happen were also on hand to celebrate its opening.
Members of the UHS Softball Team helped cut the ribbon along with Superintendent, Dr. Sanville, Athletic Director, Kendall Yarosh, Capital Projects Coordinator, Josh Fazio, and School Board Members, Erin Talbert and Tory Barratta. Lenny the Longhorn threw out the first pitch signaling it was time to play ball! Shout out to our grounds crew for getting the field ready for play after two straight days of rain!
Thank you to the Softball Boosters, Coach Leah Tymeson, the UCF Athletics Department, the UHS Marching Band, and everyone who helped make this a memorable event!
This field marks the culmination of a lot of hard work and dedication and marks the beginning of a new and improved future for our softball program and gives our student-athletes and coaches a beautiful home on which to play and compete!
