Unionville-Chadds Ford School District

Curriculum & Instruction

Designing the Path to Excellence

At the Unionville-Chadds Ford School District (UCFSD), our approach to Curriculum & Instruction is grounded in a singular, enduring mission: to empower each student to succeed in life and contribute to society. We believe that a robust curriculum must be intentional, dynamic, and holistic—bridging the gap between instruction and real-world application. To achieve this, our instructional choices, course design, and assessment methods are guided by our District's values and structured around the Portrait of an Educator and the Portrait of a Graduate. By aligning our classroom instruction with the Portrait of an Educator and aiming squarely for the competencies of the Portrait of a Graduate, UCFSD provides an educational experience that honors our values, celebrates our community's rich tradition, and prepares our students for the future.

Curriculum Review Cycle

The curriculum is on a 5-year rotation.
