Safety
Keeping our schools safe and secure is our top priority. The Unionville-Chadds Ford School District (UCFSD) is committed to providing a safe environment for all of our students, staff, and visitors. We work closely with public safety officials, including police, fire, emergency medical services, and public health officials, in order to ensure our schools are well prepared for any emergency. Together we have developed a comprehensive plan that covers a wide variety of emergencies, and that serves as a guide to help staff and our public safety partners respond swiftly should a crisis occur in our schools.
Visiting Our Schools
Unionville-Chadds Ford School District welcomes families, and community visitors. When visiting our schools, please be considerate of the following information:
Standard Response Protocol
Unionville-Chadds Ford School District has adopted a modified version of the Standard Response Protocol authored by the “I Love U Guys” Foundation, an organization specializing in research-based best practices for school crisis response. In the event of an emergency at your child’s school, it is important to be familiar with the following terms.
Threat Assessment
In accordance with Act 18 of 2019, all six UCFSD schools have established threat assessment teams composed of trained administrators, counselors, intervention specialists, mental health specialists, and psychologists. Building teams may also involve nurses, school resource officers, or local law enforcement when needed. Parents are involved when a threat event occurs and are provided guidance and information regarding local resources. Student threat events are documented and reported to the Pennsylvania Department of Education at the end of every school year.
