Wellness is the pursuit of your best possible health and well-being. It is an overall balance of your physical, social, spiritual, emotional, intellectual, environmental, and occupational well-being. Health is a goal one can achieve while wellness is a dynamic concept that continues for a lifetime.

Originally described in 1976 by Dr. Bill Hettler, co-founder of the National Wellness Institute, as 6 dimensions: physical, emotional, intellectual, spiritual, occupational, and social. Environmental health was added later by other researchers.
